Girish Narula

Girish Narula is Urgentem’s CEO. He has a track record of driving success and innovation in risk analytics, portfolio management and strategic business planning across different geographies including India, US, UK and Africa. His outlook is entrepreneurial, and technology driven with a B.Tech. in Aerospace Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Executive training in Artificial Intelligence from MIT Sloan and an MBA from the University of Oxford.  

Stephen Fitzpatrick
Comms, Culture, and Wellbeing

Stephen leads Urgentem's Communications, Culture, and Well-being activities. He is our brand guardian, the go-to person for media relations and the designer of our Culture and Well-being Program which addresses the human challenges of our work in a rapid and profoundly changing world. He was Group Interactive Strategist at Saatchi and Saatchi and has led digital innovation and communication projects for Greenpeace, WWF, and Oxfam in addition to, an award-winning social news and networking venture sponsored by leading asset managers in the UK.

Kasper Brandt
Platform and Research

Kasper leads the climate risk technology and research teams in data analysis for client portfolios and delivering client investment strategies. He has a passion for climate science and a background in data analysis, statistics, scientific research and ecology. Kasper holds a Bachelor’s in Marine Biology, Ecology & Biodiversity and Statistics and a Master’s in Marine Biology from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand.

Constantine Pretenteris

Constantine leads Urgentem’s advisory work stream and acts as a technical resource in the engagement process with clients and strategic partners.  An economist by training, he is passionate about advisory projects that empower investors to identify and manage climate-related financial risks and generate new sustainable investment opportunities. Constantine developed the TCFD-aligned Financial Services disclosure framework at CDP and worked at the Carbon Trust as a Consultant. He holds an MSc in Environmental Economics and Climate Change from LSE and is a committed marine conservationist.

Darshan Gadkari

Darshan leads our technical team. He is a hands-on tech leader and data architect with experience in various entrepreneurial roles. He is a strong supporter of AI and Machine Learning. He has 19+ years of experience in AI, Data Science, Analytics, Big Data, Digital, Cloud, B2B/B2C products. He has a Masters from Carnegie Mellon in the US.

Raj Kalia
Index Solutions
Raj leads the Index Solutions business helping clients build index-linked products driven by Urgentem’s data and methodologies. He is responsible for marquee clients, having previously worked in senior roles in structured finance, index-linked products, and derivatives at Deutsche Bank and WestLB in New York, London, Frankfurt, and Vancouver. He played a key role in the success of various start-ups and has led successful fundraising efforts.
Tara Dagostino
Marketing and Data
Tom Nutton

Tom conducts data analysis for client portfolios, hosts technical discussions and develops bespoke products using Urgentem’s global carbon data set. Tom holds a First Class Master’s degree in Financial Technology and a joint Honour’s degree in Finance and Entrepreneurship from the University of Strathclyde. For his MSc dissertation, he explored the applications of machine learning to climate finance. He is currently developing Urgentem’s advanced suite of portfolio carbon risk management metrics and climate risk platform.

Nick Gaskell
Business Development

Nick is Lead Engagement Manager working with Urgentem’s clients to deliver a high-quality service. Previously with Natixis Investment Managers he holds an IMC and a BSc degree in Banking and Finance from Loughborough University. He has also completed a Business Sustainability Management from Cambridge University and a Climate Finance certificate from Imperial College's Business School. He is passionate about fostering natural capital and environmental solutions as well as outdoor and sporting activities.

Greg Fonai

Greg leads the compilation of emissions data and works closely with the Technical and Origination team to ensure our analytics tools for investors and corporations are best-in-class. A specialist in environmental economics and greenhouse gas emissions reporting, he is also responsible for corporate engagement initiatives, liaising with corporations on behalf of investors and responding to queries regarding greenhouse gas emissions reporting and disclosure. Greg holds a Bachelor’s in Ecology and a Master’s in Environmental Technology from Imperial College, London.

Brenda Chan

Brenda heads up quality assurance for Urgentem’s GHG emission reporting and data collection processes. She holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Policy and Regulation from the London School of Economics and Political Science, a PhD in Carbon Chemistry and BSc in Chemical Engineering from Newcastle University and over 15 years academic research experience at Imperial College, London. She has devised sustainable solutions to improve climate risk management for the coal, power, water and mining industries across Europe and China.

Agata Madelska

Agata is a senior carbon data analyst with a passion for researching and analysing corporate carbon footprints. She holds a BSc Anthropology from University College London and brings her anthropological perspective to her work on Urgentem’s culture and well-being program. 

Tara has a dual role at Urgentem, supporting the business development efforts while also acting as the marketing coordinator. In her role as marketing coordinator, she is responsible for social and digital campaigns, media relations, and corporate engagement. Previously, in her role as Senior Data Analyst at Urgentem, she was responsible for quality assurance and data collection. Tara has an MA in Environment, Politics, and Globalisation from King's College London, and a dual BA in Economics and French from Boston University.
